Printer Guide
A full illustrated guide to calibrating your bed and completing the 9-point leveling process for perfect first layers.
Before you start: Make sure the printer is powered on and connected in the app. Install the magnetic base plate and keep the leveling card ready.
Step 1
Clean the nozzle
Before leveling, remove any leftover filament or residue from the nozzle tip. A clean nozzle helps ensure accurate bed leveling.
Step 2
Open the printer settings
In the Magic Jimmy app, go to the Printer page and tap the Settings icon in the upper-right corner.
Step 3
Enter the leveling page
In Printer Center, tap Level to open the bed leveling page.
Step 4
Prepare the bed and start leveling
Make sure the magnetic base plate is installed. Place the leveling card flat in the center, then tap Continue to start.
Step 5
Wait for the printer to move into position
The printer will move the print head and bed automatically. Wait until the nozzle is positioned above the leveling card.
Step 6
Begin adjusting the nozzle height
When the Calibrating page appears, use the up/down buttons to adjust the Z-offset and bring the nozzle close to the leveling card.
Step 7
Check the nozzle contact
Gently slide the leveling card under the nozzle. The correct height is reached when the card moves with slight resistance.
Step 8
Fine-tune the Z-offset
If the card slides too freely, lower the nozzle slightly. If it presses too firmly, raise it slightly. Adjust in small steps until the contact feels right.
Step 9
Confirm the basic leveling
Once the nozzle just touches the leveling card with slight resistance, tap Continue to proceed to the 9-point leveling stage.
After the basic nozzle height is set, check the nozzle-to-bed gap at all 9 points. At each point, the leveling card should move with slight resistance.
Step 1
Start the 9-point leveling check
The printer enters the 9-point leveling stage. Place the leveling card under the nozzle at the current point shown in the app.
Step 2
Check the gap at the current point
Slide the leveling card under the nozzle. The correct gap allows the card to move with slight resistance.
Step 3
Adjust the nozzle height if needed
If the card slides too easily, lower the nozzle slightly. If it gets stuck, raise it slightly. Use the up/down buttons to fine-tune.
Step 4
Tap Next to continue
Once the current point is adjusted correctly, tap Next. The printer moves to the next point, and a check mark indicates completed points.
Step 5
Repeat for the remaining points
Repeat the same check and adjustment at each point. Continue until all 9 calibration points are completed.
Step 6
Finish and save the result
When the app shows 9/9 completed, tap Finish to save the leveling result and exit the leveling process.
Tip: If the first layer is too high, too low, or uneven after printing, repeat the leveling process and recheck the nozzle-to-bed gap.
